For this healthy smoothie bowl recipes in particular, it is a super creamy and nutritious orange and banana smoothie bowl that will combine the sweetness of the banana and the tanginess of the orange.

Smoothie bowls are a good choice for anyone who likes their snacks cold, and with the same nutrition as a smoothie, but instead, it’s something you can sit down and eat when you have a little bit more time.

For the ice cream lovers out there, this may also be a healthy recipe for you. It will not replace ice cream, but you can make it at times when you would not be able to eat ice cream.

This recipe should have many common ingredients that if you don’t have already, will be useful in a ton of other dishes and snacks.

Especially with the time of year at the moment if you live in a warmer climate, oranges are in season and if you have an orange tree, you may have more fruit than you know what to do with!

Not only do they smell and look great, but they taste amazing too. With all of these pros, how is it possible not to create some healthy smoothie bowl recipes?

If you don’t have them at home, you can always grab some from the store, then you won’t have as many oranges left over. It may be less overwhelming in general if you don’t often use oranges in recipes.

There are only five ingredients in this smoothie bowl, with an optional sixth ingredient if you want an extra kick of orange flavor.

So rest assured that this recipe will be super quick and easy, so you can spend less time making it and more time enjoying it.

On a warm sunny day, this is the best snack to eat and share with others, since this healthy smoothie bowl recipe makes about two servings. Or one and a half if you plan on filling up your bowl to the tippy top!

And if you’ve seen any of the other smoothie recipes on this blog, you may already have some of the ingredients at the ready!

Because this healthy smoothie bowl recipe uses oranges, however, it may get a little messy. But that kind of just depends on how you cut and peel your oranges.

Let’s get into the ingredients!

You will need:

1 Frozen Banana

4 Coconut Cubes

⅓ Cup of Greek Yogurt

¼ Cup of Milk

1 Orange

¼ Cup of Orange juice (optional)

Starting off, you will need to freeze the bananas and coconut milk in advance to have them ready to go. Fortunately, the process only takes an hour or two before they can be put to use.

If you don’t know what coconut cubes are, they are pretty much just coconut milk frozen into ice cube trays. They add a really nice extra sweet aspect to whatever they are added to and are perfect for smoothie bowls that don’t use much liquid.

The best way to prepare these is to get a carton of coconut milk and freeze anywhere from half to three-fourths of the total amount and keep the frozen cubes in a container in the freezer.

The sooner you can freeze them, the longer you can stretch the coconut milk. With the excess that does not get put in the freezer, you can replace regular milk with coconut milk or add it as well.

Everything else you can store in the fridge, and it does not need to be frozen or prepared in any way ahead of time.

You can also add orange juice if you want a stronger orange flavor. The banana plays a big role in helping the smoothie bowl taste creamy, but adding some orange juice will help sharpen the taste.

For toppings, there are a TON of different ingredients you can add to the top to make it even better!

If you’re unsure of what to add, maybe these will help you out:

Banana Slices

Shredded Coconut

Chocolate Chips

Almond Shavings

Whipped Cream

Chia Seeds

These are just a couple of my favorites to add that enhance the orange without overpowering it. If you have other toppings that you prefer that will work better for you, then by all means, add those instead!

There are probably tons of other toppings that will taste even better! And you can use them to create unique combinations with the orange.

If you really want to get funky, you could add vanilla ice cream instead of Greek yogurt and turn it into a milkshake.

I hope you enjoy this healthy smoothie bowl as much as I did!
