This post is all about the best snacks to make when you’re hungry, bored, or making something for guests.

Some of these are elaborate recipes and others are small things you can find at the store. Either way, they will provide you with a great source of nutrition and energy.

A couple of options are pretty simple, but just as tasty. If you have any of your favorite fruits and vegetables at home, you can also eat them as a snack.

Or, if you are making snacks for friends/guests, you can cut them up and make a vegetable tray with a variety of yummy foods for people to enjoy.

This post is all about the best snacks to make, along with options for special occasions and circumstances.

We have all of the easiest, fastest, yummiest, and best snacks to make depending on whether you need to go out or stay in.

Do you need something quick to bring to a picnic? We’ve got you covered!

Or maybe something light to munch on before dinner? We’ve got an option for that too.

Although, you will find that many of these snacks can overlap with each other and can be utilized for different events and reasons.

For example, something that could be presented as a snack for guests in your home could be easily packed up and brought to a friend’s house for a potluck. Using the snack from earlier, a veggie tray.

In addition to this post, there are also several other posts on Delighted By Ro’s website that include snack foods and tasty smoothies to get the supplements you need without having to consume a whole meal.

We will provide links to other recipes as they appear throughout this post on the best snacks to make.

For the most part, these snacks will be healthy and filling foods that are great to give to growing kids or just to people who typically prefer organic and nutritional foods.

There are also some snacks that have sweet treats like chocolate chips in them for a burst of sugar, so if you want one of these as a dessert, we recommend trying out one of those.

Not that we have covered all of that, let’s move on to the best snacks to make!

For your convenience, each category has been sectioned to provide you with the easiest access to specific types of snacks depending on your mood and what you’re looking for.

Fruit and Fruit Related Products:

Fresh fruit can be sliced into bite-sized pieces, or eaten whole. (Depending on what type of fruit you are planning to eat!)

They are the most pure and healthy option for a snack if you are looking for something with little to no preparation that is easy to eat.

Fruit can also be packed quickly and most of them are clean and don’t make a huge mess. For those that can lead to sticky fingers, there are ways to prevent that with just a few extra steps.

If you don’t want to eat any of the fruit you have or don’t have any with you at the moment, these are some of the examples and ones we prefer:

Watermelon-

Watermelon is a great choice for the summer, and is not only refreshing but super yummy and sweet as well! You can either cut this up into slices or use an immersion blender to create watermelon juice.

Banana-

There are many things you can make with a banana for a snack, but here are a couple of our favorites if you need suggestions:

Banana slices

Banana and peanut butter on bread

Blended-up banana in a smoothie

Bananas baked into cookies or muffins

If you would like to use any of our recipes, these are some fan favorites.

Grapes

Blueberries

Strawberries

Apple-

Apples, just like bananas, can be paired with a bunch of other things to make a super tasty snack! These are some of the common ones:

Apples and peanut butter/nut butter

Apples with cinnamon and oats-

Sort of like oatmeal, this tasty treat consists of apple slices without peels, cinnamon, cross-cut oats, and raisins. Mix those together and you get a nutritious snack that you can eat at once or make for the next couple of days.

Mango-

All of these are delicious options that are perfect to share with your family and housemates. Or, if you want to keep them for yourself!

On the topic of sharing with multiple people, it may be easier to make a fruit platter! That way you can combine a bunch of your favorite fruits for others to pick and choose from. Not even picky eaters will be able to resist!

However, sometimes situations call for foods that can be taken through various conditions and fresh fruits just don’t make it.

For these occasions, there is a list just for you!

Applesauce

Any type of dried fruit-

From Trader Joe’s, there are some delicious freeze-dried options like strawberries and bananas, but if you want just regularly dried fruit, we suggest trying dried mango.

Dried coconut-

A delicious snack by itself, but also tastes good on top of smoothie bowls or even ice cream.

Next up is the counterpart to fruit,

Veggies:

Not as sweet (or sometimes popular) but are just as important– vegetables!

Vegetables can be a hit depending on who’s consuming them and what their personal preferences are. There are some staples like carrots and celery that make their way onto every veggie tray ever, but this list will give you a little more to add on.

Artichoke and mayonnaise-

*This snack is even yummier if you eat the artichoke while it is warm!*

Kale chips-

Not as heavy as the artichoke, kale chips are good for when you need a light snack or another flavor to balance out something else that you are eating.

While there are recipes for this snack, as long as you rinse off kale leaves, add a bit of sea salt, and bake them in the oven, you should be able to make them on your own.

Carrots and ranch

Celery and peanut butter-

This combination is delicious, and you can turn them into the popular snack, ants on a log, by adding little raisins on top of the peanut butter.

Snap peas

Edamame

Broccoli and ranch-

All of these are great options that can easily be added to a veggie tray, and putting a little side dish full of ranch or some other condiment will add a little bit of extra flavor that may attract more consumers.

Going somewhere and need something more portable? Your snack doesn’t have to be something you eat. It can be a drink, too!

Now introducing our next category,

Smoothies:

Even though you may have the chance to add some personality to all of these snacks, smoothies are where you will be able to personalize your snack the most.

There are so many amazing and mind-blowing combinations, but it can be hard to find your rhythm if you aren’t familiar with making smoothies.

If that’s the case, don’t worry! We have plenty of recipes for you to explore.
