This simple and easy strawberry banana smoothie is sure to boost your energy any time of the day.
The recipe itself is straightforward and manages to include a nutritious blend of fruits and vitamins.
When you think of smoothies, some type of blend with strawberries and bananas is usually towards the top of the list. This post will utilize the common fruit ingredients and add some sweetness to them as well as some optional creaminess.
This post is all about a quick strawberry banana smoothie that can be made by both skilled smoothie makers and beginners in the kitchen.
Sometimes life can be overwhelming and complex. This smoothie recipe is not. So sit back, relax, and take a deep breath because this recipe is made to be a breeze.
Ingredients:
Banana-
As long as you have a singular banana, you will be fine. The banana will add creaminess so if you finish the recipe and want to adjust it, make sure you have an extra on hand.
Strawberries-
The other most important ingredient in a strawberry banana smoothie is the strawberries of course! The more strawberries you add, the more flavor will come out in the smoothie.
Milk-
Without milk, the smoothie would be less of a smoothie and more of juice. However, you don’t want to add too much milk because it can take away from the fruity taste.
Honey-
This step really just adds a tiny bit of extra sweetness to the smoothie. However, be warned that you may need to heat up the honey before adding it to the smoothie, or else it will harden up before it ever fully mixes in.
Ice-
Ice just helps keep the smoothie cool because you aren’t adding any frozen fruit into the blender.
Optional/Alternative Ingredients:
Yogurt-
If you want a thicker consistency, then feel free to add some yogurt to your smoothie. Greek or vanilla yogurt is recommended so the flavor doesn’t take away from the smoothie.
Kale-
If you ever want to add some extra veggies to your smoothie, kale is always the way to go about it. Unless you add a lot of kale, and I mean a lot, you won’t be able to taste it at all.
Almond milk-
Almond milk is a delicious alternative to regular milk, and will also make the smoothie sweeter.
Vanilla ice cream-
Vanilla ice cream is perfect if you want to turn your strawberry banana smoothie into a milkshake. This smoothie can really be for any time of the day and can be altered to become a dessert too!
